With several low-voc lacquer finishes to choose from, this adjustable highchair is made from sustainable rubberwood and features a 3 point safety harness as well as an infant insert for added security.
While the company claims this chair is free of PVC, phthalates, and other toxins, I wish they would disclose the materials used for the infant insert which is made from a proprietary foam-based material. Even so, this is still a good option and of course, the insert can be removed.

The Ikea highchair is one of the most affordable options on this list coming in at just $19.99! Made from one of the safest plastics (polypropylene) and powder coated steel, this highchair is easy to assemble making it a great choice for grandma’s too!
The Stokke Clikk above is most similar to this Ikea chair, but there are some signifcant differences to note:
- Ikea chair features a safety belt rather than a 5-point harness which provides less support and security for littles.
- Not adjustable (to table or tray height)
- No footplate (although I am sure someone handy can make one!)
- Extremely lightweight.
- Seems less sturdy than the others, but I cannot speak from experience.
